Tips and Tricks – Patching Around Door Handles
This month's tip involves patching a vehicle wrap. We've all done it from time to time whether to fix an area we cut too much out of, and/or stretched, or to cover an area that wasn't printed properly. There are some tricks that can be useful if thought out before hand.
One example is the area behind a door handle where the media will have to stretch an extra 3-5 inches. When there is a complex curved area that the media will not stretch to conform, a patch should be printed of the area.
In this case wrap the area behind the door handle before the rest of the large graphic. This will serve two functions; first it will allow for more relief cutting of the main graphic, and second, it will create less resistance to lifting because it will be sealed under the large piece.
